I am currently working with some clients who are currently suffering with stress or unhappy in their working life. The first instance I always encourage new clients to talk to their GP. Having spoken with their GP many are referred to counselling and they work together to put strategies in place to help them overcome or manage their stress.
Their stress could be caused by some of the following:
High Workload
Too much work load and very tight deadlines can lead to stress and a lack of control and support.
Inadequate Resources
You have insufficient resources such as outdated equipment, lack of training, or inadequate support. This can make it difficult for you to perform your tasks effectively, leading to frustration and stress.
Lack of control
Sometimes when we are micromanaged, we are not able to make decisions it can have a detrimental impact on our health.
Organisational culture
You are in an unsupportive organisational culture, where there is a lack of communication, trust or focus on blame rather than trying to solve the problem.
Lack of Recognition and Reward
I have many clients who come to see Stirling Careers Consultancy who feel their line manager does not show any interest in them or their work. This often results in employees feeling demotivated.
Alternatively, if the role is not right for you, we help you exit the organisation, sometimes this may involve taking legal advice, and helping you to find a more suitable role. Also, we offer psychometric assessments where clients complete a set of online assessments which will then recommend 12/13 careers related to your strengths.
These are just some of the reasons why clients have come to us and we work alongside the medical profession. We focus on helping the client to decide whether they want to continue in their current role, if they decide to stay in their current role we help them negotiate with their employer reasonable adjustments.
We offer all new clients a Free 20 minutes telephone consultation to understand your current circumstances and explain how we can help you move forward and explore your career goals.
Why wait?
It could be the best telephone call you ever made.
