Handling A Job Offer

Job Offers

At the end of your job interview, it is important to ask the employer when they hope to make a decision and how they will let you know.

Job offers can be made in a variety of ways:

  • At the end of the interview
  • By telephone
  • By e-mail or by post a few days after the interview

All your preparation, research and practising has helped you.

Well done

You now have to decide:

  • Is this job right for me now?
  • Do you want the job subject to negotiations?
  • Are you unsure that you want the job?
  • Perhaps you would like a better offer or would like to meet with them to discuss the offer further.
  • The job is not suitable.

Do not worry.  Telephone the organisation and politely ask for some feedback so that you can learn for future interviews.

The interview panel might feel that:

Thank the organisation for their feedback. Dust yourself down, take the positives out of the negatives and keep on applying.

An even better job could be just around the corner.
